Video can be an excellent tool for both sales and marketing, and the pandemic has only increased its use. In April of 2021, Sandler partnered with Vidyard to help sales teams adopt personalized video as a sales tool.

Video in marketing has been around even longer! It can be a great tool to help make prospects feel more comfortable before they even meet you when used properly. Let's look at a few ways you can use video in your marketing.

Home page video

You're likely familiar with the concept of a 60-second commercial, sometimes known as an elevator pitch. It's great for networking events, but have you thought about converting yours into a video and putting it on your website's home page?

Creating a video version of your 60-second commercial not only conveys who you help and how, but it can also help prospects already feel like they know you before they even meet you because they've seen you on video. Placing it on your website's home page also makes a lot of sense because it is more likely to be seen that way.

"About me" video on LinkedIn

We're big fans of LinkedIn. On your LinkedIn profile, there's a spot to feature links or media. This is great if you have a column somewhere online, or maybe you're a published author and can feature your book. You can also create an "About me" video and put it in the Featured section.

Instead of focusing on your company, create a 30 or 60-second commercial where you share information about yourself that's pertinent to your ideal prospect and target market.

Educational video series on social media

Video is huge on multiple social media platforms, not just LinkedIn. Demonstrate expertise by regularly publishing educational videos on Facebook, YouTube, and elsewhere.

A big part of prospecting and marketing is guiding prospects through knowing, liking, trusting, and valuing you. By demonstrating your expertise on an ongoing basis somewhere they can see it, you'll increase the trust and value factors.

Using video in these three ways can help you make better use of your marketing investment.
