Have you ever spent time and energy on something, and if you're honest about it, it wasn't helping you move toward any of your goals? Or maybe you've become overwhelmed with to-do lists?

I do that too! If I'm not careful, I can get overwhelmed with my to-do list.

A while back, I was listening to someone speak, and he shared a practice they have in their organization. It may or may not be helpful for you.

In his organization, when someone on his team shares that they're overwhelmed, they're given a challenge. They can start with a "to-do list," but they have to turn it into a "2 do list." In other words, they have to pick only two items on their list!

Now, the specific implementation is going to differ from person to person and from case to case. Maybe your list is two things for this hour, maybe it's two things for the day, maybe it's two things for the week.

A massive to-do list becomes overwhelming, and we tend not to execute it very well. Often it leads to unnecessary anxiety!

What if you prioritize and pick just two things from your list? You're much more likely to do the two things that are the most important!

So the next time you find yourself either working on something that's not moving the needle on one of your goals or you're feeling stressed and overwhelmed by all you have to do, change your "to-do list" to a "2 do list."

What are the most important two things on your to-do list, and why are they the most important?
